Capitalizing upon the rich natural resource base of the State and with the objective of opening up livelihood and employment avenues for its citizens, especially youth and women, the Government of Meghalaya has identified and prioritized the food and food processing industry as one of the growth drivers of the state’s economy through ground breaking interventions like the creation of a separate Directorate of Food Processing, introduction of a policy for fruit wines, establishment of a Mega Food park and of course the holding and organization of the biggest and first ever North East Food Show with branding, network support and the 50 year old food innovation experience of SIAL India and Paris.

The objective of the North East Food Show is to develop a compelling go-to holistic B2B Platform to catalyze Food Processing SMEs as Growth Drivers for the region and position Meghalaya as a Food Destination and Food Innovation Hub while making the Indian & Global Market aware of the indigenous and organic products of the North-East by bringing together all conceivable stakeholders onto a common platform to pave the way for future tie-ups, incubators & start-ups.

The Government of Meghalaya with SIAL India will be hosting the Second Edition of the North East Food Show – An Innovative Food Exhibition in the State. The North-East Food Show will be spear-headed by the Directorate of Food Processing together with the Agriculture Department.
